Recently, my friend, Jenn Aubert of LearnSavvy, asked this on Facebook:

As a business owner, do you have a ritual or routine that helps you wrap up your work week?

This time, I just had to answer one of her discussion-starting questions because I luv to share processes that work and helpful tools for today’s professionals. My answer:

I do! And it’s all about wrapping up the week on Fri mornings.

I review all the things I was able to check off my To Do list during the week and then move what didn’t get done to the following week.

Oh, and I like using Day Designer pages which suggest coming up with a Top 3 for each week (or day) so I try to knock out anything in the “3” that is remaining during Friday mornings. Then, no more work after lunch!

When you work for yourself you tend to feel like you’re working 24/7, so I think giving yourself Friday afternoons off is a great way to celebrate the flexibility that you work so hard to create by doing your own thing.

Day Designer has some awesome freebies on their site (all you have to do is register), but I prefer the weekly-focused planner they offer, which you can see in the photos below.

To get a planner like mine just visit their site!

What about your answer to Jenn’s questions? Send me yours and I’ll likely feature it in an upcoming blog post with full attribution, of course!
