BDM’s First (But Not Last) iPhone App: Date Knight (now, BetterHalf)

My husband, Keith (Kaminski), is a digital producer and very serious about creating compelling content and amazing digital experiences. And, while he loves our time together, he feels that keeping the spousal romance alive while balancing career, social and creative activities can be very challenging. So, with a little creative and biz dev help from me, he’s designed something fun which we hope will help create harmonious date night experiences for us all.

Here’s the description of Date Knight:

Depending on where you live, the number of options for pulling off a great date can be mind-numbing and often results in analysis paralysis. Sometimes also resulting in an irritated and disappointed significant other. However, if you could narrow down the “sure things” from the “why bother,” or “done that” options out there, you could end up with a really great date.

Date Knight is a smart, fun and easy tool for the spouse or partner who wishes he/she could initiate and execute a more successful date night. Instead of choosing the venue and dining in a vacuum, or relying heavily on their spouse/partner to come up with or make the plans. This app empowers users to be the “knight in shining armor” they’ve always aspired to be. (Well, for at least that night.)

By aggregating and cross-referencing both your and your spouse’s favorite venues, restaurants, interests, local events and digital calendars — the necessary success-factors will emerge.

The initial version of the app will combine and schedule both movies and dining. The enhanced version will include musical events, art exhibitions, author appearances and local events of interest to the user and spouse in addition to limo reservations, flower ordering and maybe more.
